February 2008

So here I am at the Chamberlain hotel in West Hollywood on the morning of the Academy Awards, the Oscar’s. In this town this event is the climax of the year, more important than Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Yom Kippur, Eurovision and 4th of July. It’s the harvest of thousands of people’s labour, dreams and desires. It’s the moment of truth. Who’s going to win? Who’s going to get snubbed by the Academy? Who will get the pity prize? It’s interesting, and the whole world is actually watching as more and more people get sucked into the American culture all around the globe.

However I’m having breakfast and I decided to have French Toast to celebrate the pioneering spirit of French cinema; the Lumiere brothers and others.

I am looking forward to watching the Oscar’s with my friends here in L.A. Hopefully it will be a little like a Eurovision party and we will all have some laughs while enjoying good food and quality company and the hospitality of our host Bjorn Baldvinsson in Eagle Rock.

May the force be with us all.
